At the heart of my practice is a commitment to vulnerability and to the ever-shifting nature of human experience. I am inspired by the ways people perceive, interpret, and move through space differently, seeing these differences not as obstacles but as vital sources of creativity. My work is informed by a broad spectrum of influences, from contemporary and classical dance to observational practices, film, and the fleeting poetics of everyday life.  

My work is rooted in capturing the immediacy of the present moment, both on and off the stage, a reflection of life as it is lived, felt, and imagined. I am drawn to storytelling as a way of exploring our shared humanity, uncovering meaning within the ordinary, and giving shape to the internal landscapes that quietly guide us. Life is experienced differently by each of us, and my goal as an artist is to create a space where these differences can coexist, converge, and be celebrated.

My creative process is grounded in responsive, athletic composition and experimentation. I design structures that allow performers to navigate time and space with freedom, blurring the line between choreography and chance. This results in performances that remain alive, subtly evolving with each presentation. Audience engagement is an integral part of the work, as each viewer brings their own associations, memories, and interpretations, making the meaning of the piece a collaborative, unfolding process. In this way, spectators are not passive observers but co-creators of the experience.  

I take pride in being a woman choreographer in the arts and that often means moving through spaces that weren’t built for “me” in mind. Every piece I create becomes a statement not just about movement but about presence, that a woman’s voice is both necessary and overdue. And yet, it’s in that persistence, in the careful crafting of space for my own ideas and for the dancers who follow me and trust me, that you transform absence into influence and imprint my rhythm in a field still learning to value feminine strength in command. 

Art, for me, is both a reflection of life and a tool for understanding it. It asks us to notice the unseen, to honor the ordinary, and to recognize the significance of the present. Becoming a mother has deepened this perspective, revealing the profound beauty embedded in daily life as it unfolds through my child’s discoveries and my own.
